We recently launched the exciting new function of setting up recurring invoices for your business to help you save time and hassle when it comes to regularly repeating invoicing.
After the release of this function, we spoke to users and collected feedback on how recurring invoices can best work for your business. And in Debitoor style, we set about making even more improvements on this useful function.
So what has been added?
- You can now limit the number of recurring invoices or set them up to occur over a specific period of time.
- The frequency the invoices are created and sent can now be set manually.
- You can also now add time periods within your invoices to show date ranges for services, for example.
1. Limited recurring invoices
Do you offer a weekly yoga class that runs for 6 weeks? Or maybe you offer a 12 week course on web design. If you only need recurring invoicing for a specific time period, it’s now possible to set this up in your Debitoor account.
You can limit the recurring invoices either by setting a date range or even by specifying the total number of recurring invoices to be sent out.
This eliminates the need to disable recurring invoices after a certain date or number by allowing you to set it up to end automatically.
2. Custom invoice frequency
Maybe you don’t invoice once a week or once a month but every 10 days or every three weeks. No matter how often you need your recurring invoices to send, you can now schedule this in Debitoor invoicing software.
In the ‘How often’ section, you’ll see that you can now select ‘Custom’ from the drop down menu and type in how often you’d like your invoices to send and choose ‘Days’, ‘Weeks’, ‘Months’, or even ‘Years’ from the drop down menu.
3. Date ranges in your invoice template
If you would like your recurring invoices to automatically state the time period (which needs to be updated for each new invoice), you can set this using the new date or month placeholders.
For example, if you work in consulting and send a monthly invoice to customers and wish to specify the date range for your work on the invoice, you would set this as seen above. No need to enter the dates yourself, they will automatically be added and updated for each invoice and will appear like this:
This means that if you invoice monthly for the range of each month, this will appear in the invoice, updated for each new monthly period automatically.
