As you may be aware, there has been a recent security breach at our database provider, MongoHQ, who deliver database services to SaaS providers around the world.
What happened?
Unauthorized users have managed to access data on MongoHQ's databases looking for social media authentication information for spamming purposes as well as for credit card details.
It's important for us to emphasize that since we don't store this kind of information for Debitoor, there's no risk that this type of data has been stolen.
What actions have been taken?
MongoHQ has immediately increased their security setup and taken all necessary preventive actions.
On our side, as soon as we were informed of this security breach, the Debitoor development team:
a) investigated the impact of this incident for Debitoor in cooperation with MongoHQ
b) followed the security procedures from MongoHQ to prevent unauthorized access to our data
What does this mean for you?
We just wanted you to know that this has happened and that the situation is under control
- with us as well as with MongoHQ.
Your data security is our top priority and we're here to answer any questions you may have about this incident. Just comment on this post or email us.
